Health Promotion Coaches/Facilitators
Ever wanted to teach a class on staying healthy and active? We need volunteers to be trained as group facilitators for our A Matter of Balance and Chronic Disease/Chronic Pain Self Management classes. Training times vary and classes run through the year. Contact Roshini Darnal at 401-421-1095 for more information.
We are currently accepting applications for new Board positions. The Board of Directors meets once a month, on the 3rd Tuesday, from 5:00-6:30 pm. We also ask that each Board member serve on a committee and commit to an additional two hours per month. For more information or to apply to join the Board, please email: Boardnominating@federalhillhouse.org.
Host a food, toy, or clothing drive
The holiday season can be very difficult for many families, so we raise funds and host drives for food, toys, and children's clothing. In 2017, we helped over 500 families with Thanksgiving baskets and gifts for Christmas. Year round, we can always use non-perishable foods, gift certificates to grocery stores, and children's clothes. Please contact Aura Caceras at 401-421-4722 for more information or would like to host a holiday drive.
The Federal Hill FireHawks need you! Started in 2010, the Federal Hill FireHawks is a small Special Olympics team that is committed to growing the "Providence Team". We need coaches and volunteers to help with various sports, including bowling, track & field and basketball. Please contact Roshni Darnal at 401-421-1095 if you are interested in volunteering or would like to lead any FireHawks activities.
Do you have a group interested in giving back to the community? We have many options for single time community service projects. Projects include painting, landscaping, food distribution, holiday gift wrapping and preparing meals for special events. Contact Kimberly Fernandez 401-421-4722 for more details.
Want to have an impact on the community but don't have time to volunteer? We are always accepting monetary donations for general operating costs or specific programs. To donate online, please use the PAYPAL link above or mail donations directly to the agency: Federal Hill House, 9 Courtland Street, Providence, RI 02909.
