FHH All Staff Day
With so many employees working at our different sites, and sometimes at other sites around Providence, we are always looking to create opportunities for our staff to come together and learn more about what goes on behind the scenes around Federal Hill House. On Friday, April 5, we closed all programs for an all-staff day, with team-building exercises and important information sessions to allow staff to get to know each other better and help our leadership team ensure we are living our values in all areas of the agency. In the afternoon, we split into groups for our “community service” projects around the agency to bring our sprawling team closer together. What better way to know what your coworkers are doing daily than taking a walk in their shoes? We had administrative staff stocking the shelves in our food pantries, food pantry staff creating floral arrangements and decorations for our senior center, and School Age and Early Learning Center staff members organizing and cleaning up each others’ spaces. Staff responded very positively to these experiences, as the most consistent feedback from the all-staff event is that it needs to happen more often.
Summer Camp Enrollment is open!
We’ve had some beautiful days so far in April, and we know our School Age programs are itching for frequent sunny days to allow more time for outside play and activities. That’s why we’re thrilled to announce that enrollment is now open for FHH Summer Camp! The program is for children entering grades 1-7 and will run from Monday, July 1 until Wednesday, August 28 (closed on Thursday, July 4). We are committed to developing a joy of learning, and we recognize that what happens outside of school plays a critical role in overall learning and growth. That’s why we built a program that will feature engaging activities each week, along with swimming trips, field trips, and indoor/outdoor fun! For more information about the program or questions about enrollment, please contact Corrin at canderer@federalhillhouse.org or Susana at sortega@federalhillhouse.org, or call us at (401) 421-4722.
