As the seasons change, so do the ways we come together to support one another. At Federal Hill House, fall and winter are filled with community celebrations, traditions, and moments of generosity. From festive family events to essential pantry support, there are countless opportunities to sponsor, volunteer, collect, and share. Whether you want to roll up your sleeves, make a financial contribution, or spread a little holiday cheer, your involvement helps our neighbors thrive.

October 2025

Sponsor | Beautify | Collect | Share | Serve

Fall Festival: Friday, October 24

Sponsor

  • Help cover the cost of decorations, costumes, and supplies for our annual Fall Festival where children and families enjoy holiday activities and go home with lots of treats.
    Sponsorship goal:     $500

Volunteer

  • Set up and run games and activities for children from 2:00 – 6:00 p.m.

Help All Month

Beautify

  • Plant: bring a small group to plant flower bulbs for spring at our two locations
  • Paint: bring a small to medium size group for 3 – 4 hours to brighten up community spaces—experienced painters preferred


Collect & Share

  • Halloween costumes
  • Warm coats & winter gear

 

Serve

  • Serve guests and stock shelves in our busy food pantry (weekday shifts available daily for individuals)

  • Welcome guests, serve meals, and clean up—Saturday November 22, 12:00 – 4:00 p.m.

Fund the Food Pantry—5th Annual Feeding Families Fundraiser: Friday, November 28 at 8:00 p.m.

  • Become an event sponsor and provide families with up to a week’s worth of food

    • Gold Sponsor: $1,000 feeds 200+ families 
    • Silver Sponsor: $500 feeds 100+ families 
    • Bronze Sponsor: $250 feeds 50+ families

  • Donate or collect gift cards for goods or services for raffle prizes

  • Buy and/or sell event raffle tickets

Attend

  • Join FHH supporters for an evening of music, food, and fun to help feed families in Providence. Event starts at 8:00 p.m. at McBride’s Pub on the east side of Providence, and features local band The Moonlight Ramblers.

  • Help children select and wrap small, but meaningful gifts at the Family Holiday Market

  • New toys, books & pajamas to give away to children

Train

  • Begin training as a VITA volunteer to provide free tax preparation or serve as a greeter during tax season—a unique way to make a lasting impact on family stability.
