Family Learning Academy (FLA)
FLA promotes optimal early development, learning, and health of young children by supporting and engaging their parents and caregivers. Parents learn about early childhood development and the important role they play as their child’s first teachers.
This programs supports income eligible families (must reside in zip codes; 02908 or 02909) who are looking to further their adult education or career goals along with goals for their child(ren). Families will work with a coach to determine the types of supports needed, such as:
- Referrals to community resources and support with the application process (e.g. obtaining childcare subsidies or healthcare)
- Individual or Group coaching sessions – offered by video call, phone call, in person at the FHH campuses, or in-home visits for emergencies
- Invitations to FHH’s family activities
- Activity suggestions to support your child’s growth and development
- Support with developmental or educational concerns for your children
- Advocacy support for school meetings, pediatrician visits, early intervention sessions, etc.
Additionally, adult education participants can receive technology to participate in virtual programming, access to job coaches, financial counseling, and limited scholarship opportunities.
