Welcome, neighbor! You belong here.

We’re all about creating a foundation of opportunities for our neighbors. No matter who you are, what you need, or what you have to offer, you belong here.

Since our founding in 1887, FHH has served hundreds—and now thousands—of community members annually through a continuum of services that support individuals from infancy through older adulthood.

Today, we offer:

  • Parent-child playgroups that promote early language and learning (Providence Talks)
  • A family support team that helps neighbors access and navigate services
  • A high-quality Early Learning Center for children ages six weeks to five years
  • After-school and vacation programming through our After-School Program at Swiss Street and 21st Century Community Learning Centers
  • Vibrant summer camps
  • Teen work experience programs
  • A high-volume Food Pantry
  • Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA), helping families reduce food insecurity and increase disposable income. Daily meals and activities for older adults that improve health and reduce isolation
  • Two AmeriCorps Seniors programs: the Foster Grandparent Program (FGP) and the Retired Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP), through which older adults engage in purpose-driven service throughout our community.
  • Volunteer opportunities that help fulfill community service requirements, learn job skills, and help you give back to your community!
  • Community Events such as our annual Community Thanksgiving Dinner and Summer Block Party

We’re here when you need us.

Mission

Federal Hill House’s mission is to help our neighbors in Federal Hill, Olneyville, and the surrounding community thrive, at every stage of life.

Core Values

The principles that guide our beliefs at Federal Hill House are:

Belonging

You belong here. No matter who you are, where you come from, what you bring to the table or what you need, you are welcome, valued, and respected.

Empathy

We listen with openness and respect to understand the experiences of those we serve, and respond with compassion and dignity.

Partnership

We have the greatest impact when our staff and community work together strategically toward collective goals over time.

Accountability

We hold ourselves and each other accountable for our actions.
