School-Age Child Care at Swiss Street
Serving children from Kindergarten to 12 years old after school, during vacation weeks, and on summer break. We provide snacks, help with homework, play outside, and offer a variety of youth development opportunities. Our staff reflects the community we serve and are excellent role models. Nutritious Snacks Provided Daily
As a participant in the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP), we provide healthy snacks at no extra cost to families.
Our snacks meet USDA guidelines, ensuring balanced nutrition to support your child’s growth and development.
During vacation days, breakfast, lunch, and snacks will be provided at no extra cost, regardless of payment method. Meals can also accommodate special dietary restrictions (i.e., allergies, religious needs, etc.).

Schedule
A typical day will include circle time / community meetings, snacks & homework help, structured physical activities and free play, read-alouds and DEAR time, hands-on learning opportunities, table games, and theme-based activities and experiences.
Transportation
Federal Hill House provides transportation from the following schools:
- Asa Messer Elementary
- George J. West Elementary
- William D’Abate Elementary
- West Broadway Middle School
- Paul Cuffee Lower School
- PVD Prep
Students may also walk-in or utilize the school bus.
Affordable Tuition & Financial Assistance
We strive to make quality childcare accessible to all families by accepting Rhode Island’s Child Care Assistance Program (CCAP) and other financial aid options. Our flexible tuition plans accommodate both full-time and part-time care needs. Our auto-pay program makes it easy to keep up with weekly payments, including tuition and CCAP co-pays.

2:30 p.m. to 5:45 p.m.
School Vacation Hours
During vacation weeks, parents may sign up for the following services:
- Before Care (7:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m.)
- Full-Day Care (8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.)
- After Care (4:30 p.m. to – 5:30 p.m.)

21st Century Community Learning Centers (CCLC) After-School
Federal Hill House is also pleased to lead after-school and summer camp programs at Harry Kizirian Elementary School and Asa Messer Elementary School in Providence in partnership with the Rhode Island Department of Education. The programs aim to reduce chronic absenteeism by providing families after school care options that focus on students’ socio-emotional needs. This includes a light snack, arts and crafts, outdoor play, and activities encouraging teamwork, creativity, and leadership. This program is free for students who qualify.
