Providence Talks

A parent education program that develops parents’ and caregivers’ capacity to lay the foundation for early language and literacy skills by playing with, talking with, and reading to their children.

Providence Talks’ parent educators facilitate weekly playgroups across Providence that introduce, model, and practice strategies and that help increase parent-child interaction. We provide free books each week and utilize LENA technology to track progress and provide feedback for parents and caregivers. Playgroups meet at Federal Hill House campuses and at multiple community libraries and other community settings. Providence Talks is also available as a home visiting model.
