Hispanic Heritage Month Celebration

DSC_0131_1

Each year, Americans observe National Hispanic Heritage Month from September 15 to October 15, by celebrating the histories, cultures and contributions of American citizens whose ancestors came from Spain, Mexico, the Caribbean and Central and South America. Our Hispanic Heritage staff celebration on Friday, October 13 featured delicious food from Spanish-speaking countries, traditional dances from our staff and their family members, and a host of cultural decorations provided by staff members from their respective origin countries. We are proud and happy to celebrate the heritage of many of our staff, volunteers and program participants, and we thank you for your contributions to your community! More photos of the event can be found on our Facebook page, and now on our brand new Instagram.

Federal Hill House is thrilled to announce that we’re bringing back our beloved holiday events for our wonderful neighbors. Save the dates: On October 27, we’re hosting an exciting Fall Festival event, and on Saturday, November 18, it’s our heartwarming annual community Thanksgiving celebration.

For our Fall Festival, head over to our 9 Courtland Street location at 3:30 p.m. this Friday, where we’ll have themed tables for trick-or-treating, fun games, exciting activities, and much more! We will also have free car seat safety checks available in the parking lot. More information can be found here on our Facebook page!

Last year, our community Thanksgiving event brought together nearly 200 people from our programs and the surrounding community. The feedback was incredible! Be on the lookout for updates on how to RSVP and join us for a fantastic Thanksgiving meal with your family, friends, and neighbors. We can’t wait to celebrate with all of you again! If you’re able, please consider donating to support this important community event, as every bit helps to serve our community.

Feeding Families Fundraiser at McBride’s Pub

Slainte FHH

Come join Federal Hill House supporters and friends for the third annual Feeding Families Fundraiser for our two Providence food pantries on Friday, November 24, 2023 at McBride’s Pub, 161 Wayland Ave, in Providence. The event is very timely, as our pantries see a significant increase in demand during the holiday season. There will be live music from local legends Sláinte, great food and drink, raffles with prizes from local vendors and much more. Bring a friend, grab some food or a couple drinks, enjoy the music and the atmosphere, and try your luck with the raffles. But don’t worry, if you can’t make the event, there are many other ways you can support! Some options are donating gift cards for goods, services or dining to be a raffle prize, signing up to volunteer at our food pantries during the busy holiday season, or of course, making a donation to support the distribution of food and essentials to your neighbors this holiday season. We can’t thank you enough for your support!
